Custer State Buffalo Roundup Attracts 25,000 Visitors

The annual buffalo roundup attracted a massive crowd of 25,000 people, according to Custer State Park representatives. Multiple hundred bison were successfully herded at the 54th annual event.

Mark Hendrix is the person in charge of park resources. He stated that 470 of the 1,460 animals that are part of the herd would be auctioned off.

Hendrix added that keeping the herd size around 1,000 could be vital. It keeps the ecological balance in the enormous park.
